A. There are many variables to this question and each franchise will be different. The determining factors include; how many of our programs are being offered, whether you will be working your business on a full-time or part-time basis, the time of year that the business is launched, the size of your market, and the direct and/or indirect level of competition within your market will all help determine the length of time it may take to get your business off the ground.
Kidz Tennis was founded in 2010 and as of 2016 they are in their 7th year in business.
There are basically two types of franchise programs; those who start with their bottom line in mind and those who start with their franchisees in mind. Many franchises offer tiny territories just so they can claim to have the lowest price franchises available. We believe in providing large territories so our franchise owners can grow and expand within their own protected territory and not have to buy additional franchises to do so.
There are many answers to this question, but the most important one is the type of revenue you can establish. Many franchises have a system in which you will make many phone calls each day in order to get a sale for your service, and when you complete that service it is done and you have to immediately start calling again, often up to 100 calls per day! Our program is better by design, it was created for you to sell it once, service it well, and repeat the sale each semester over and over again. Our residual-based system is better than our competitors linear-based revenue system.
We have set up our system so that it can be offered on a full-time or a part-time basis. Whether you will be able to continue your full-time job is up to you and your situation as each job is unique. You would certainly need to make sure that there is no conflict of interest or clause in your employment that would prohibit you from being able to do so. The other issue would be that of time, as long as you were able to commit to the necessary sales and marketing, coaching, and administration efforts at the required times then it is certainly possible.
We started off as strictly an after-school tennis program and have grown to offer many programs for preschool, elementary school and middle school students such as; Tennis, Golf, Volleyball, Kickball, Frisbee Golf, Dodgeball, and Whiffle Ball. We also additional program types such as; after-school enrichment programs, camp programs, leagues, clinics and lessons, and birthday parties.
All of our equipment is 100% mobile and is transported to the school/facility where it is then set-up on campus in the designated location for our program.
We are very flexible to our franchise partners, the only requirement is that the Kidz Tennis after-school program must be offered. All other programs and program types are completely optional and up to each individual franchise owner
Unlike many franchise offerings, when you are awarded a Kidz Tennis & Sportz Franchise, it includes ALL of our programs and you can decide which to offer and which you would rather not include – and you can change your mind at any time.
Flexible work hours are vital to many people, and being able to do much of the work when it is convenient for them is often a high priority. Free time is another area that many people are interested in, it seems that our ultra-connected society has been constantly increasing our work hours – but with Kidz Tennis we have designed our system to allow for additional free-time which allows many people to work-less and earn-more. The fact that our protected territories are among the largest in the franchise service industry (if not THE largest) speak volumes as to how our system was designed with the success of our franchisees in mind.
There are so many choices available that it often seems overwhelming until you break it down and simplify the process. We have created a system for this as well, it is a 9-step system used to help prospective franchise owners determine the best franchise for them. We will go over our system with you during our presentation.
The franchise fees will vary by market depending on how large a specific territory is and how many people live in the area. Our franchise fees start at just $15,000 per market. Our concept is that we want each franchise owner to be vested into their business, but to also have enough capital to establish their marketing efforts to get off the ground as quickly as possible.
We believe that time is the most important valuable asset we have and how we spend it is critical. We have purposefully designed our system to allow our franchise partners to do much of the required work when it is convenient for them. And depending on which programs and program types are being offered, many Kidz Tennis & Sportz Franchise owners will spend 30-39 hours per week working in their business. Certainly in the beginning stages and through the ramp up period this number may be greater, but our estimated average is still considerably less than many other franchise offerings in which a time commitment of 65+ hours per week is not uncommon.
We answer this question within our FDD because we are proud of the potential earnings and return rate of our system. Due to federal guidelines, we cannot discuss that information in this section – but our financial information is included in Item 19 of our FDD.
If you were considering opening a burger place and your options were to a) open a McDonald’s Franchise OR to b) open a restaurant that had a similar menu but they weren’t a franchise. Let’s just say that you decided to open the “off-brand” burger place and you invested your time and money getting everything set up and you were feeling good about it – and then someone else opened a McDonald’s across the street from your “off-brand” restaurant. How do you think your restaurant would fare? The point is this. There will always be opportunities to take short-cuts, to do something for less, and it will often seem like a great idea at the time. The fact of the matter is that the franchise agreement protects BOTH parties, without a franchise agreement you are not bound to them and they are not bound to you – AND they can’t offer you the protection you need as a business owner. We spent over three years developing JUST the franchise system so that each franchise owner would have the necessary equipment, supplies, and marketing materials needed to provide their customers with the best possible experience.
We thought about the various risks involved as we were developing this system. And while we cannot eliminate risks, we took great care to mitigate risk in each phase of operations by; offering low franchise fees, offering a larger territory than most others, keeping equipment and supply costs low, eliminating the need for building overhead, and by providing a residual revenue system.
There are likely many franchise offerings in which taking time off directly equates to a loss in revenue. Once again, we designed our system with you in mind and we believe that time is valuable and you should spend as much of it as you can doing the things you enjoy most. In our Full-Time Program, it is designed to allow for up to 6-8 weeks per year of time-off without suffering a loss in revenue*.
*Preparing in advance and taking time off during designated off-weeks of the program are a must. It is not recommended to take time off during prime-time of each season. Delegating tasks and work-flow is necessary.
